Nuttir Than A Fruit Cake

Boy does Mike ever have an obsession with facebook participants. He just started a new thread called the Facebook / MySpace Psalm. What a joke! What in the world is going on with this guy? He might be loosing it. Wasn't Mike the guy who masqueraded as the "Whirlwind" on Factnet a few years back? Yes he was so it seems to me he is continuing full speed ahead with the old double standard. His blog is no more than an exNTCCer hater blog anyway so he doesn't have any room to critique anyone else's internet habits the way I see it. I don't particularly like the word, "hater" but I thought it was appropriate being that so many NTCC folks like to liberally throw it around.

Even though he is a hypocrite, I really don't blame Mike for firing back at exNTCCers like myself. I've been firing at him with both barrels blazing for a good while now so can you blame the guy for at least making a feeble attempt at defending himself?

Anyway, his obsession with facebook is no more than damage control NTCC style. Mike is smart enough to realize that folks will continue to escape the NTCC, (more so than they've already been) as they learn more about the org's secrets. Facebook is an avenue to such information because ex-ers are on facebook. The NTCC's greatest trick has always been maintaining control of the flow of information. That fact alone is singlehandedly responsible for the creation of so many NTCC rules. They've never wanted folks to talk that much so they've prohibited churches from intermingling for reasons other then organized fellowship meetings. They required that couples ask permission to even go to each others houses. They've wanted to limit the number of kids that attend each others birthday parties. The list goes on.

Well the internet has put a halt to all this control freak, information censorship business and now Mike has come almost completely undone with this facebook obsession of his. Just look at his last thread and tell me I'm lying. A facebook psalm? Ha!!!! He is becoming nuttier than a fruit cake. How do NTCC people take this guy serious. He may be a serious musician. I don't doubt that. He may have decent to above average organizational skills. I don't doubt that either. What I do doubt is that he is even remotely qualified to guide folks spiritually. People have dedicated their whole life to the NTCC which is now being guided by a guy like him?

If I was looking for some spiritual guidance I would be better off jumping in a lake and talking to a fish. Hey, the fish might be the 50th cousin, 5 times removed from one of those dudes that got caught in the net when Christ told Peter to cast it off the right side of the ship. At least with the fish I'd have a remote chance at some real spiritual guidance. A facebook Psalm? You GOT to be kidding me? This is the guy that NTCC folks are following? Boy am I glad I didn't wind up in Graham. LOL. ROTFL. The blind leading the blind.

Jeff,

I think they biggest problem with Facebook and MySpace with NTCC is that folks IN ntcc get to see how GREAT those of us who left are doing. When we were in we were told that the judgement of God waited for anyone who left ntcc-- but the reality is that almost everyone who leaves ntcc gets blessed beyond belief. They get better jobs, live in better homes, drive better cars, and enjoy a quality of life 1000% more than when we were in. Also, you are free to follow God (without getting permission from an ntcc leader before making a decision in your life).

I am here to tell everyone in ntcc-- that since leaving ntcc life has been awesome! I have more money, more happiness, more good times, a better marriage and family life, than I ever had in all my time in ntcc. Those of you still in ntcc (and are miserable, admit it) need to take a leap of faith and leave ntcc. God and blessings are waiting on the other side, and you'll be thanking God you finally escaped. Six months after you leave you'll be looking back in horror saying, "What was I waiting for?? This is great!" And you don't need an excuse to leave-- JUST DO IT!!

Over a decade ago, I watched my mother be ridiculed from the pulpit by Kekel as foolish and immature because she asked permission to write a letter to someone she had gone to bible school with and was in another state. She cried for hours. Now, everyone has the ability to communicate with everyone else from all over their church populace, including Mike's blog and the ntcc families group he organized for the purpose of keeping in touch.

Since the conference, I have had a few NTCC friends leave Facebook.

Not that it's a big deal, since there are other ways to communicate of course. :)

I found MCK's post a bit hypocritical though, considering the fact that he's using Blogger, which is just another networking site.
Oh sure, he's got many of the members saying good bye to the main social networks, but there are still blogs, websites, etc. too.
He can't control which sites people go to at home.

And just to think...it was only a few years ago where the "Sinnernet" was adamantly preached against as a distraction and so forth. Same thing with TV and movies, worldly music which now most of them have that as well.

You've compromised your church standards Rev. Kekel by allowing these things. It's a bit too late to try and get it under control and try and make it better.

Dawn,
These folks are NOT leaving FB on there own directions and decision. It is because of the GUILT trip preaching that ntcc does. They don't like it. So you get the guilt trip. Now,why would you want such and such in your life. They put whatever it may be at the time in a negative light. So much,EVERY chance they get to put it down.
Soon,God "convicts" you. and you have to think. This must be God trying to get my attention to rid this evil thing from my life.

NOW if mike k. would stay out of people's private bussiness. WHICH IS NOT a preacher's bussiness. That is betweeen THEM and GOD! If God wanted them to know that is something to get rid of. He can get there attention ALL on HIS OWN!

Folks that are leaving FB. I do hope they come on the blogs. Read folks true testimonies. What we have lived. Many the lightbulb will go off inside there head. Sooner then later!

Oh, I know April.

I know the guilt trips the ministers use as well...

I remember being told "how is your husband ever going to get saved if YOU aren't faithfully in church all the time?"

...and I felt guilty thinking my husband getting saved rested on my shoulders... so off to every service, prayer meeting I went and he hated it (me being gone so much).

Another guilt trip tactic...

"If you say you love God, then why aren't you in church?" (I missed 2 or 3 services before I heard that one over and over again).

Been praying for my NTCC friends...if they ever do leave, I will still be here as their friend. Even if they don't leave, I'll still be their friend if they want. :)

As I said, if Rev. Kekel didn't want all these issues going on, he should have prayed long and hard about the direction of NTCC before compromising and giving in to temptations such as Internet, TV, movies, secualr music, etc.

Of course, the human race does have a right to know the 2 sides of this church.
Rev. Kekel's and those who have left.

:)

Jeff the funny thing is, that if you search for Jesus on Facebook....HE APPEARS!!! Even the King of Kings is on Facebook! In fact I'm going to submit a friends request (LOL). Oh....and as far as Mike being a good guitar player; he's not! If you know anything about guitar playing (which I do, I've been playing for 25 years) guys like Mike are a dime a dozen! Were just taught to believe that he's something to talk about. Anyway, I thought the Facebook Psalm was ridiculous to! But the sad thing is, some scmuck will actually believe it!

We all get those Ahah moments.
Since leaving ntcc I have tried to surround myself with friends from more then just ONE walk of life. It is called Enriching one's life. I trust myself, and my faith is not going to be wavered by a picture, someone's else's opinions ON FB or talking to them face to face.
I got friends that are Jews, catholics,JW's,UPC,Mormons. It is Gods sense of humor. Breaking down my WALLS that I put up. AFRAID of anyone outside of ntcc. While in ntcc I was afraid of public school,it was going to lead my DD to hell if she went to a PS. I was afraid of even peeking at a TV show. I was afriad of walking through clothing section with bathing suits or pants. Ntcc will keep you in FEAR of the WORLD outside that fence! another control tactic!
So what do you do,you ONLY make friends with folks in ntcc. What a very DULL life you lead. mike K. likes bluegrass,so the magority of the folks like bluegrass. He likes his coffee black,so does a true ntcc minister. So on and so forth!

And now your getting rid of a resource that you have used to stay in touch with family or friends. Share jokes, picture's,having FUN with Facebook or myspace. But now Mikey says that is bad. So off fb you go! Way to narrow down your life even more!

These folks are supposed to out and Reach the World. But they don't even know what the world is like. Which is why ntcc will never grow any bigger then they are!!

I am thankful for my friends. Most of them are what I consider REAL Christians. They don't live there lives in a bubble!!! get a ntcc person into a conversation. It is not going to far. They got NOTHING to talk about that will interest anyone. COUPONS,dress sale's,did you see that suit at the local Kook store,God is soo good, wow,we are winning. how about that revival service. YAWN! No enriching going on with them!

I just happened to be the lucky guy to log into your blog when the counter hit exactly 77,000 hits.

Is that cool or what? I like them 7's!!

Sorry to disagree with you Jeff, but I must respectfully do so on this point: Jeff said,

"I've been firing at him [m_Ichabod kekel] with both barrels blazing for a good while now so can you blame the guy for at least making a feeble attempt at defending himself?"

I CAN blame him. If he were straight, there would be no need to fire at him.

It's not the cop's fault who arrests the wife-beater that the guy is going to jail. The fault is with the perp-E-tra(i)tor!

Too long m_Ichabod kekel and his kronies have been getting free passes in the pulpit, whaling on folks with free reigns of terror.

Misusing a supposedly God-given office to beat down God's heritage.

The silence of those who endured the beat-downs was deafening.

Now people have a media outlet where their voices too can be heard.

I hardly think of your allowing folks to share their true stories as
"firing at him with both barrels blazing" To me our "firing" rounds are merely warning shots for what ultimately must come upon a miscreant like kekel.

Our warning shots serve to wake-up people in ntcc to the double standards and hypocrisy that have bound them in a hypnotic state of obedience to so-called men of God who

DO NOT PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH!

I say, "Fire away!" People need to know what is really going on.

For purists, (or fault-finders) here's the original song by The Buffalo Springfield performed live in Monterey, Calif. I prefer the B.S. version. And I do not agree with all the statements or images in the first video. Ideally, I wanted the Kent State photo in the vid, but found too many versions with too much stuff in them that I could not support. Hence the delay from start time to publish time for my initial post.

Buffalo Springfield -- For What It's Worth

-----------------------LYRICS----------------------------

{added in live version}
[omitted from the original version]

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear {come on in}
There's a man with a gun {nowhere} [over there]
Telling me I got to beware

I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody['s] wrong
Young people speaking their mind[s]
Getting so much resistance from behind

[I think it's time] we {got to} stop, {children} [hey,] what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

What a field-day for the heat {down there}
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and [a-]carrying signs
Most[ly] {to} say, hooray for our side

[It's time] {Now} we{'ve got to} stop, {children} [hey,] what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will [creep]
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

We{'ve got to} [better stop], hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, {children} [hey,] what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, {yeah} [now,] {owh how} what's that sound
Everybody look {around} what's going down
Stop,{look around} [children, what's that sound]
Everybody look what's going down {yeah huh}

Mike has taken down the thread titled, "The Facebook / Myspace Psalm", and now he is trying to justify his original intent. Some folks must have got a little bent when they were forsaken by their so called friends.

Mike called folks response to his guidance a "knee jerk reaction" when in fact his tirade about this whole facebook thing was no more than a "knee jerk reaction" in the first place. Boy are these NTCC folks brainwashed. I know, I was one of them. I don't even have a facebook account however it's not because it is bad or good or anything else; I simply don't want one. The whole factbook thing has simply never grabbed my interest. Once again I don't see it as bad or good. I'm indifferent to the concept. I think it can cause people trouble with employment if they are not careful with what winds up on their facebook. Employers are checking sites like facebook to try and get a better insight to the character of their employees or potential employees.

Kekel is essentially doing the same thing with his church members and ministers and he is using facebook against them. The best thing you can do is let "ALL" NTCC leaders know as little about you as possible. Trust me. If you want trouble, just let an NTCC pastor in your personal business and watch what happens. First thing is it will get spread all over the planet and the second thing is he will use you personal affairs against you via the pulpit.

Knowing what I know now, If I was ever in the NTCC, (which I wouldn't be again) I wouldn't so much as let an NTCC pastor know my address. He wouldn't know jack about me. I wouldn't go to him for one stitch of counseling. I wouldn't tell him if I was coming or going. He certainly wouldn't get my phone number. If I was going on vacation I simply wouldn't show up for church.

The problem with these NTCC pastors is they strive to get total control of your life and it's not God doing it, it is the control freak pastor.

When the control freak pastor would say, "brother we missed you in church last week" I would respond with "well that's good to know". Then when he would ask, "so what were you up to last week", I would respond, "personal business" and I certainly wouldn't say, "Sir".

Then when he would say, "brother I'm trying to be your pastor", I would say, "No you're trying to get in my business and control my life and that is not your job and I think I should be leaving". Then he would say, "why are you leaving brother" and I would say, "who knows".

As you can see, I no longer have one bit of tolerance for those NTCC dictators controlling ways. None, nota, zero, zilch. Every time I think about the authoritarian ways of those control freaks and they way they tried to control me and my family, it makes sick. I shouldn't have put up with it for one second.

Some of these NTCC pastors are the biggest control freaks that I've ever met in my life and that is no exaggeration. They've become so brainwashed and mixed up while believing that you must jump to the beat of their every whim, that for all intensive purposes they are menaces to the very society they live in.

I really believe that. Public enemy #1. Believe me when I say that some of these dudes are some sick people. A lot of you folks will figure it out sooner or later but you'll waste a lot of time and money in the process that you can't ever get back.

Just keep alienating your family for these creeps and I'll guarantee you'll regret it one day. I'll guarantee it and you can take that to the bank. Oh what do I know? I'm just a bitter hater right? Yeah right. I'm just telling the truth and the NTCC leaders don't like it and neither do their brainwashed minions. I know as well as anyone because I also used to trust those so called NTCC "leaders".

Poor Kekel never studied Church History- of the likes of Dowie, Branham, etc... because Davis fits the mold! The end of an minister's effectiveness is when he turns to spending all his time fighting his enemies! WOW, Mikey is signaling his own defeat/demise! Can you see that? Mikey cannot! Look at his mentor.

Anonymous said...

So true about Mike fighting what he thinks is his enemies.
The one that said, debating is not what a Christian does. Argueing,Gasp, what a waste of time was his sentiments.

Hey folks, since Mike thinks God is Ok with him Blogging on the internet. And is Ok for his kid to play sports, attend a school that has different beliefs,it is no Ok to have a basketball court in his Backyard.

Then it must be Ok for EACH individual member to pray on there OWN. To let God guide there life and there choice's. Wether they line up with what ntcc thinks is good or not. It is between one indivual and God,right!
TV,pray about it. Just like the internet, can choose what station(web site) to go on and which ones you would rather avoid.
Make-up. Sis Johnson and Verna Davis both weak make-up. So pray and see where God leads you on that decision. Your husband does not control YOUR decision. Only Gods does!
What kind of style cloths you wear. That is between you and God. Your husband does not pick what dresses HE thinks he likes. It is your cloths and what YOU wear. So it is up to You and GOD!
Same goes for taste in music,FRIENDS,Tastefully, simple, jewlery(many folks in the Bible wore Jewlery)

You do not have to wait until Mike says,Oh God told me this was Ok. So lets CHANGE this about how we live our live's. NO,your Gods creation. God created you and your a free moral agent. Jesus,Holy Spirt is who you consult.
If you pray and God is with you on your decisions. Then there is NO NEED to be CONVICTED about anything after that.
So once you make a decision on who to have on your facebook. I am sure you thought and prayed about it in the first place. So why do you need Mike K. to TRY and convict you on this subject. GOD will let you know!
